Not flocking this to fandom folk, as would defeat the point I guess, so just smile and nod if you're not a fandom friend.

My cold comfort is that slash isn't all that transgressive in terms of fannish bent any more, so the dunderhead in question looked clueless even before folk lit into him. Nothing says jerk like righteous indignation over something everyone else has come to terms with. (OK, not everyone, but I'm still all, "um, have you googled your fandom lately?")
