My kitty has swallowed a needle. He was throwing up all of yesterday, so I took him in today. They're doing surgery. I was sitting there, being ignorant, reading "The Hobbit" to him while we cuddled instead of taking him to the emergency vet.

I am an awful, awful mommy.

Edit: Baby is coming home tonight. Surgery went well. Doctor said I got him in really fast, which bodes very well.

Thank you so much!

Is that your kitty in the picture?

Yes, that's one of the pride; he's much bigger now. :) This icon is my late, beloved Squeaky, whose back legs were paralyzed (not that that kept her from getting on the sofa or climbing the drapes).

What a trooper! And a beauty, too. How many kitties do you have presently? Tom (see icon) is my only one -- I grew up with dogs. He's a little over three months old, so a bit bigger than in the picture.

LOL, too many! I have this thing for taking in strays. Unfortunately, one of them has introduced mange into the family, so I'm doing the dip thing this week. Not fun; it's amazing how little cats like being dunked in a bucket filled with disgusting, rotten-egg-smelling water!

:-)

I'm quite sure that when I've got my own place, I'll have the willpower of a politician in an office of co-eds when it comes to stray animals.

Ergh. I've only heard about the excitement of the dip, but it doesn't sound pleasant on either end.

I love your way with words. *G*

Yes, the dip is an adventure. And joy, next week I get to do it again to make sure all the nasty buggums are dead. But it's better than having a bunch of itchy, crusty, miserable cats.

Thanks!

Give them all a pat and a "good kitty" from me when they've made it through.

I'm bribing them to forgive me with kitty treats. :)

In my struggles with getting LJ to let me post *grrr*, I forgot to say that your Tom is a cutey and a half! :)

He says thanks! (see icon)

He is currently a mewling, drugged, painful cutey. And I'm going to be $750 - 1000 poorer. But his surgery went well, and the needle is in a plastic bag (my mother insisted that I keep it as a trophy -- the one thousand dollar needle), so hopefully he'll be causing trouble again ASAP.

Poor baby! Give him a (gentle) pat for me and tell him I hope he feels better soon.

I'll do so when I give midnight meds!
